Organic & Wildcrafted: What They Mean for Your Space & Our Planet

Not only does AromaTru’s state of the art, waterless, atomizing diffuser revolutionize diffusion, but our essential oils do, too. To provide the purest diffusion, we only use organic and wildcrafted essential oils. Let’s take a look at what that means for sustainability and your indoor spaces.

USDA Certified Organic Essential Oils

Essential oils are extracted from flowers, leaves, petals, stems, seeds, needles, fruits, rinds, woods, resins, rhizomes, roots, and grasses. When organic, these are regulated by the USDA and grown in a way that avoids synthetic inputs, preserves soil quality, and enhances overall sustainability.

So, with our Organic Red Thyme Essential Oil, for example, organic certification indicates that the thyme was produced in a way that adheres to USDA organic crop standards , which includes the following:

  • Avoid prohibited substances for at least 3 years pre-harvest (these include non-organic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and other harmful additives)
  • Support crop nutrition and soil fertility through tillage practices, crop rotations, cover crops, and use of animal and crop waste materials (with some allowed synthetic materials)
  • Use of organic seeds, when possible
  • Control of weeds, diseases, and pests through primarily mechanical, physical, and biological controls (i.e. weeding by hand, planting crops that attract natural pest predators)
  • Avoid genetic engineering (GMO), ionizing radiation, and sewage sludge

Many people opt for organic essential oils, not just to support a commitment to a more natural, sustainable future, but also for the potential health, safety, and quality benefits. Organic certification can provide additional peace of mind, especially with essential oils that are diffused often.

Wildcrafted Oils

USDA certification is difficult for smaller operations and in the wild spaces in which many of our favorite essential oil-producing plants grow! This is where Wildcrafted Essential Oils come in.

Wildcrafting is the practice of foraging, or gathering plants in the wild. So, in the case of AromaTru’s Wildcrafted Juniper , you may think about all of the common juniper shrubs that you see growing naturally in places without human intervention. Because it’s not common to commercially cultivate this evergreen shrub, USDA Organic certification is replaced with Wildcrafted.

Still, wildcrafted essential oils offer sustainability benefits. In fact, because they grow naturally, wild plants and trees are extremely resilient and contribute to their ecosystem in ways that organically-cultivated plants can’t.

Much like organic crops, those that are wildcrafted are also grown without the use of chemical pesticides, fertilizers, herbicides, and other inputs.

The Very Essence of Nature—In Your Home

AromaTru’s essential oil collections make use of some of the world’s finest, non-endangered USDA Certified Organic and Wildcrafted plants, trees, and herbs. To ensure that you only diffuse the best in your indoor sanctuary, they’re also free of synthetic oil fillers. In fact, they’re even tested for purity , quality, and safety by an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 certified lab.

You deserve unadulterated, safe, and sustainable essential oils in your home. And with AromaTru, that’s exactly what you’ll get
