Health and Forests : International Day of Forests 2023

It is no coincidence that the United Nations has chosen March 21st— the first full day of Spring—to observe International Day of Forests to celebrate and raise awareness of the importance of every type of forest. The rich, loamy scent of the thawing earth has filled the air, and the first green buds have burst free of their winter limbs. The warming air and bright sunlight give us so many ways to celebrate: from a hike in your local woods, to planting a new tree in your neighborhood, and even bringing the forest inside with AromaTru’s fresh, woodsy essential oils.

Healthy Forests For Healthy People

The UN’s 2012 proclamation creating International Day of Forests states:

Forest sustainable management and their use of resources are key to combating climate change, and to contributing to the prosperity and well-being of current and future generations. Forests also play a crucial role in poverty alleviation and in the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The theme for 2023’s International Day of Forests is “Health and Forests,” and at AromaTru, we believe that pure essential oils are nature’s gift to elevate your mood, energize and revitalize your spirit, and promote a healthy lifestyle. And because we believe that they are a gift, sustainability is our top priority. So, before we dive into the oils that can bring the forest into your home, let’s take a look at AromaTru’s essential oil standards.

Ethical and Cruelty-Free Essential Oils

At AromaTru, we use only pure, natural plant components: seeds, leaves, stems, petals, needles, fruits, woods, rinds, flowers, roots, resins, rhizomes, and grasses. More importantly, we source them ethically. This means that, not only are our essential oils USDA Certified Organic and Wildcrafted, but they’re all legally procured from sustainable origins. Going beyond that, we don’t source any essential oils from plants on the Endangered Plant list. These include plants such as, goldenseal, myrrh, sandalwood, and palo santo.

What happens after the essential oils have been harvested can present another ethical concern: animal testing. At AromaTru, we never use animal testing for any of our essential oils. But we still perform other testing on our essential oils! Every essential oil is sent to an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 certified lab for identity and purity testing. This ensures that no adulterants are present—leaving you with only the purest essential oils available.

From the Forest to Your Home

With AromaTru’s pure essential oils, it’s easy to bring the grandeur and simplicity of the forest into your home. Diffuse Ravintsara essential oil for its fresh, sweet-camphoraceous aroma and its ability to help purify the air and relieve nasal and bronchial congestion. Try Cypress essential oil to enjoy its soothing woody-coniferous fragrance that conveys serenity and solace. Pine essential oil can be diffused any time during the day to refresh and purify the air and to bring nature’s vitality into your home or workplace. For the sweet scent of the conifer forest, Balsam Fir and Black Spruce essential oils can bring you an uplifting aromatic energy and sense of optimism. You can diffuse any of them individually, or mix and match them to create your own perfect forest blend. Add a floral scent, like Lavender or Geranium, and have your own wildflower meadow in the woods.

Forests give so much to our health. They purify the water, clean the air, capture carbon to fight climate change, provide food and life-saving medicines, and improve our well-being. It’s up to us to safeguard these precious natural resources. That’s why with AromaTru, you can rest assured that the essential oils you’re using have been ethically sourced and are cruelty-free. Try them in the AromaTru Waterless Diffuser and breathe easy.
