With decades of experience and a deep passion for natural healing, Gabriel has played a pivotal role in developing the AromaTru waterless diffusers and curated essential oil collections.

A Lifelong Passion For Natural Healing

Gabriel Mojay’s journey into aromatherapy began in his teenage years, sparked by a love of natural healing. Growing up in Cambridge, England, Gabriel’s interest was piqued by yoga and an introduction to natural foods during a visit to Paris. “I suddenly discovered yin and yang and natural foods… And I think that’s what really put me on the path originally,” Gabriel recalls. His passion for aromatherapy truly took root while working at Neal’s Yard Remedies, an iconic apothecary in London’s Covent Garden. Studying herbal medicine and surrounded by the rich scents of essential oils, Gabriel realized that his future was “aromatic.” This experience set him on a path that would lead to a lifelong career in aromatherapy.

 

Aromatherapy Pioneer and Educator

As the Principal of the Institute of Traditional Herbal Medicine and Aromatherapy, founded in 1990 in London, and co-founding chair of the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists (IFPA), Gabriel has made significant contributions to the field of aromatherapy. He is also the author of Aromatherapy for Healing the Spirit and his dedication to natural medicine and the sustainable sourcing of aromatic plants is unwavering. “I am passionate about learning, teaching, and sharing,” he says. But his motivation isn’t just intellectual—Gabriel embraces what he calls the “Epicurean philosophy,” which emphasizes the enjoyment and pleasure of life. “The point of life is to enjoy it and enjoy the pleasure of life,” Gabriel explains.

 

 

Collaborating With AromaTru

Gabriel’s journey with AromaTru began serendipitously when he was approached by the company in 2020, just as he was feeling the need for “a new inspiration”. A conversation with AromaTru’s founder, Peter Spiegel, gave him just that. “I realized what a great opportunity it was—to work with a company known for its innovation in products that help us maintain our health and well-being,” Gabriel says. Gabriel played a pivotal role in testing and refining the revolutionary AromaTru Waterless Diffuser, but his expertise was truly invaluable in selecting the essential oils that would become the foundation of AromaTru’s curated collections.

 

Creating AromaTru’s Collection of Essential Oils

“The essential oils that I recommended to make up the AromaTru range of kits were informed by two or three considerations,” Gabriel explains. “The first was to ensure that AromaTru customers would have a choice of all the most popular, useful, and beneficial aromatic materials for their first-class diffuser. The second consideration was to ensure the suitability of the recommended essential oils for aerial diffusion, as some oils are either too viscous or precious for standalone diffusion. Lastly, AromaTru is committed to ecological sustainability — and therefore ensuring that our essential oils are wholly sustainable was another important guiding principle: to give AromaTru an equally high-quality solution to the exhilarating waterless diffusion experience.”
